What happens in a session

Before:

Amatsu can be performed on a fully clothed body, so I simply ask that you wear loose, comfortable clothing (no jeans). The therapy works holistically, addressing your entire body—including your feet—rather than focusing on individual parts in isolation. To make the most of your session, please turn your phone off or switch it to airplane mode, and ensure you are well hydrated. Bringing a water bottle with you is also recommended.

During:

Your first appointment will last approximately one hour. At the start of the session, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire, which we will discuss together. This will cover any past or present injuries, as well as your current symptoms. You will then be invited to lie on the treatment couch, where you can begin to relax. I will carry out a gentle assessment using muscle testing, which involves moving your limbs, I will also check your mobility and identify areas of tension. Once the assessment is complete, I will begin working to re-balance your body and support its natural healing process.

After:

After your session, you may feel a little tired or deeply relaxed, while others experience a sense of lightness or renewed energy. Some people notice subtle changes, and others may not feel much at all—this is completely normal. Everyone responds differently, and each session can feel different from the last. The most important thing to do after your treatment is to re-hydrate and take a gentle walk for at least 10 minutes, as this helps your body integrate and settle the work that has been done.
